Before I get started, I just wanted to say how amazing we all are. For those that are taking that leap of faith in starting his or her own business, I commend you. You are truly brave and passionate about your brand and I wish you longevity as well as prosperity.
Moving forward into today’s post, I have something very special to share with you all. In the spirit of entrepreneurship/business, I recently got the opportunity to interview a creative, thoughtful just overall light being.
Sky Britnei is the epitome of what every budding business person should be: She exemplifies optimism for not only herself but to her brand as well, Sky encompasses what passion and hard work look like while building her business and she is consistent and considerate of the needs of her consumers.
Sky’s careful attention to detail is also a quality up and coming entrepreneurs, as well as business owners, should possess.
Without further delay, here is my interview with Sky Britnei:
First, I just want to take this time in thanking you for doing this interview. I think it’s super crucial to educate ourselves as well as others more about small black-owned businesses. Let’s continue to change the narrative by introducing Sky Britnei.
- Can you give us, the readers here at Takemetotheheights.com a brief overview of who you are?
In the simplest terms, I am art. A creative. A person of passion. Everything I create is by way of passion and inspired by art.
- What caused you to start your all-natural line?
I created my natural body butter line during a pivotal moment in my spiritual journey. At the time, I felt confident in my jewelry line and knew I wanted to expand although I wasn’t sure in what way. I started diving deeper into the world of meditation, yoga, and holistic wellness and really began to fall in love with it. As I researched more, my passion for the wellness world grew and I decided that I would use my new found passion to further expand my business.
- What are you hoping consumers gain from your line?
More than anything, I want my customers to know and truly feel the hard work, dedication, energy, and love that I pour into all of my products.
- What’s your favorite product(s) or which would you recommend to the readers?
My favorite body butter is Majesty. I use sweet orange and vanilla essential oils to fragrant this butter and it smells sooo good (all of them do, lol). To be honest though, what I would recommend depends on your skin type. This is also why I have the benefits of each butter/oil listed on my website and encourage my customers to do further research on what works for their skin. I have oily/combination skin thus Majesty works wonders.
- What are you manifesting for your line in the years to come?
Success, stability, productivity, happiness, growth, and connection with other black-owned businesses!
- How can people find you or purchase your products?
(Potential) Customers can visit my website, www.skybritnei.com. They can also follow me on Instagram @DeLaJipi which has direct links to my products. I have also begun doing pop up shops and other events, so that information will also be listed on my Instagram page.
- Any advice for up and coming black-owned business owners? If so, what gems would you drop to them?
Okay, so I have a few that I have learned throughout my journey.
There will be difficult times but, consistency is truly key. No matter how trying times may be, don’t give up on your dreams. Make those dreams into goals and think about how to execute those goals. No matter how many people you see succeeding via shortcuts, never forget that hard work and passion about your craft breeds success. And last but definitely not least, it is okay to take care of and put yourself first. Always.
